Yes.  We actually carpet the hallways of all our climate controlled buildings.  It makes a huge difference in the appearance, keeping the place clean (we are a bit nutty on that subject), keeping it quiet.... and it's easier to walk and work on.  Much, much better than a hard concrete floor you see in the self storage industry.  It's probably the best change we've made.
